Thanks to its carbon-fibre design, the 190CX3 is amazingly lightweight – without a head, you can literally lift this tripod with your little finger. With such a weight saving, you would expect the tripod to suffer with its stability, but the Manfrotto is rock solid.
The clip locks secure the legs when extended so there’s no chance of them slipping at all and the centre column can be removed and inverted – a perfect feature for those who enjoy low-level photography. The feet are rubber and don’t feature any metal spikes, but the leg angle adjustment tabs are some of the best we’ve seen and make it so easy to open up and close the tripod in a matter of seconds. If saving weight is your main priority then you should check out this model if your budget allows.
Verdict: If you’re looking for the perfect combination of stability and light weight, this could well be the tripod for you! Pricey, but worth it!
