One of the heaviest tripods on test, the Master Classic is ideally suited for studio work. With a maximum weight load of 6kg, the head will hold heavy DSLRs, complete with telephoto lenses. The legs feature metal ‘twist’ locks that are grooved for easy use and lock extremely tight, making sure the legs don't slip at all. Although the stability of this unit is without question, the legs only adjust to a limited angle and the central column is not removable. The head is very heavy duty and the build quality means that you will be using this outfit for a good few years to come. At 2,550g, this won't be your first choice of tripod to take on long treks in the great outdoors, but for a studio setting, its weight and the robust nature of the heads and legs will prove to be a blessing.
Verdict:
An excellent example of durable design,
but limited leg angles make this tripod a
better option for studio work.
