POTY Terms & Conditions

1) The photo holiday prize is subject to availability. Early booking is recommended.
2) The prize winner will be selected by a panel of judges including Daniel Lezano, editor of Digital SLR Photography.
3) There will be three winner per theme and then one overall grand prize winner.
4) Winners will be notified by telephone or email within 28 days of the closing date. Failure to be able to get in contact with the prize winner will result in a new winner being selected.
5) Delivery of prizes will be arranged with winners, after notification of winning.
6) Any changes to flight time and/or date of travel, once booked, will carry a change fee. Route changes are not permitted.
7) Should any element of the prize (e.g. restaurant or tour bookings) become unavailable at any time, the promoter reserves the right to cancel without notice or obligation, or to substitute item of similar value at the promoters’ discretion.
8) The promoters are not responsible for any delay or cancellation of any element of the prize or for any inability of the prize-winner or their guest to take up the prize.
9) The promoters reserve the right to cancel this promotion without notice or obligation, and reserve the right to substitute a prize of similar value should the specified prize become unavailable.
10) Transfer to onwards destinations would be at prize winners cost, and are not the responsibility of the promoters.
11) The partners in this promotion accept no liability for any loss, damage or injury caused by, or to, the prizewinner or their guest, or their property whilst taking the prize.
12) Any alternative travel arrangements made by the winner would be at the winner’s expense.
13) Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and non-changeable. There is no cash alternative offered. Nikon UK reserves the right to substitute the prize to an equal or greater value should circumstances make this necessary
14) The promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding selection of the prize winner.


GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS 1) The closing date for uploading your entry for each theme will be stated in each issue of the magazine. 2) Due to the nature of the prize, only UK residents are eligible to enter. 3) The competition is open to amateur photographers only, professional photographers (defined as those who earn the majority of their income from photography) are ineligible. 4) Only one entry per person per theme is allowed. Anyone found to enter multiple entries will be disqualified. 5) All entries must be uploaded at: www.digitalslrphoto.com. 6) The competition sponsors reserves the right to free reproduction of entries in all publicity related to this contest including websites and printed matter. However copyright remains with the photographer. 7) The winner must retain and use their Nikon D7000 outfit  and provide images taken on this camera for use in a follow-up article. The winner retains copyright but will supply images to Digital SLR Photography and allow the magazine and its sponsors free use of images to support the competition online and in the magazine, including a follow-up article about their POTY grand prize, which will be prepared in co-ordination with the magazine’s editorial team. Images taken on the trip are not to be submitted to other photography magazines until at least a year after the publication of the Worlds Apart follow-up feature in Digital SLR Photography. 8) Images are only to be used in connection with the promotion of this competition for a period of no more than five years and all images will be credited to the photographer. 9) By uploading entries, all entrants agree to free use of the images in the magazine for articles promoting the competition, such as when running the best runners-up images along with the winning images. 10) Any entries received after the closing date will not be accepted. 11) The prizes are as stated and no cash or alternative prizes can be offered. 12) The winner may be required to take part in some publicity. 13) Employees of Dennis Publishing and Nikon are not eligible to enter.
