Travel Photographer of the Year Festival announced

The Travel Photographer of the Year Festival has been revealed, offering workshops, seminars and equipment advice

The Travel Photographer of the Year Festival will take place in September and October.

The Festival will take place at the Royal Geographical Society and will offer seminars by prolific travel pghotographers, workshops, portfolio reviews and lectures for anyone interested in travel photography.

Travel Photographer of the Year has released a a taster schedule, of the three days as below:

Exploring Photography & Travel Day
Sunday 25th September 09.30 - 16.30

  • Travel, arctic, panoramic and street photography lectures & workshops
  • Travel lecture - Machu Picchu
  • 'How to do' photographic technique workshops
  • Equipment & photography advice centre
  • Image manipulation workshops

Speakers are yet to be confirmed, but you can expect the likes of award winning travel & wildlife photographer Steve Bloom, explorer and writer Hugh Thomson, panoramic photographer and author Nick Meers and founder of Travel Photographer of the Year Chris Coe to make appearances.

Wild Day
Sunday 2nd October 09.30 - 16.30

  • Wildlife, aerial, landscape, pinhole and adventure photography lectures
  • Stock photography and images for publication workshops
  • Equipment & photography advice centre
  • Image manipulation workshops

Speakers include travel, landscape and stock photographer David Noton, aerial photographer Jason Hawkes, Director of Photography at Conde Nast Caroline Metcalfe, photographer and film maker Nick Livesey, BBC Human Planet stills photographer Timothy Allen and adventure and expedition photographer Martin Hartley.

People & Cultures Day
Sunday 16th October 09.30 - 16.30

  • Photographers @ work lectures
  • People, street & reportage photography lectures
  • Equipment & photography advice centre
  • Image manipulation workshops

Speakers include Steve Bloom, Philip Lee Harvey, BBC travel presenter Michelle Jana Chan, Head of Photography of the American International University Mary Robert, photographers and authors Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher, writer and biographer Alexander Maitland and founder of Tribes Travel Amanda Marks.

A day ticket is priced at £55 (£40 for RGS members), while a portfolio review will cost and extra £15.

If you wish to attend all three days, ticket prices will cost £140 (£108 for RGS members).
