Oleg Gaponyuk is the winner of the 2011 Epson's PANO competition
Oleg Gaponyuk's photo of Kuala Lumpur is this year's Epson's PANO winner.
The photographer chartered a helicopter in 2009 in conjunction with the airpano.ru project and shot the 3D spherical landscapes from there.
He took the six photos in 4 seconds and stitched the final shots together.
The Russian's panorama won both the Major Open category and the Built environment category.
Other winners include Susanne Weissenberger from the US who came top in the Open Award Nature (including landscapes) category, Christian Baeuchle from Germany who was awarded the 2011 Amateur prize and Amateur (Nature) category, Bo Struye with his entry for The Built Environment and 2011 Major VR/360 winner Ignacio Ferrando.
The winning entries used a combination of digital panoramas, stitched together post-production and panoramic film.
