Leica issues firmware update for M9

Press release

Manfrotoo has released an update to the Leica M9's firmware that will improve stability when using an SD card

A new firmware version that includes an update of the SD card driver has now been tested. A broad-based field test has been carried out in association with a large number of beta testers. We would like to thank all customers who expressed a willingness to help with this.

As a result, considerably more stable general performance has been identified with all SD card types. In order to make this improvement available to all customers immediately, the firmware version 1.174 is now available for download on the Leica homepage.

However, we must advise against using the following card types, as 100% freedom from errors cannot yet be guaranteed with them.

- San Disk Extreme Pro SDHC I UHS-1 (all card sizes)
- San Disk Extreme HD Video SDHC I (all card sizes)

Support for these memory cards is still in development and we will provide a further firmware update for download after successfully testing compatibility.

Thank you for your valued understanding.
