Olympus updates OM-D EM-5 software to version 1.5

Olympus has updated the OM-D EM-5 firware to version 1.5, including bug fixes and stabilisation

Olympus has issued a firmware update for the OM-D EM-5, to version 1.5.

The update isn't a huge one. Olympus states the two additions as:

  • Operating sounds in the photo ready mode were decreased.
  • Use of the Image stabilizer function by setting the Focal length of an OM lens attached with an adapter was enabled even in Movie mode.

By updating to firmware version 1.5, all previous updates to version 1.2 will be installed too.

You will need to install versions 1.3-1.4 manually if you want the benefit of all updates issued for the camera thus far.

To update the firmware on your Olympus OM-D EM-5, just head to the Olympus support website, select Software updates > Digital cameras > OM-D System > E-M5 > your operating system (Windows or Mac) > OM-D EM-5 Version 1.5 update to install the latest firmware version onto your camera using the Olympus Digital Camera Updater.
