Sony announces Alpha 300 & Alpha 350
Two consumer DSLRs launched - both boasting innvative Quick AF Live View
Sony has announced the 10.2-megapixel Alpha 300 and the 14.2-megapixel Alpha 350. Apart from the resolution difference, both look very similar in terms of specification. The biggest point of interest about these DSLRs are the Quick AF Live View, which can be used without causing any problems with AF (something other Live View systems have yet to solve), which is impressive as the AF is claimed to be 1.7x faster than the Alpha 100, which has now been replaced by the 300. Other features include nine AF points, 2.7in LCD screens and Advanced Super SteadyShot. Also announced were two lenses, the Vario Sonnar T* 24-70mm f/2.8 and the 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G SSM.
