Hasselblad Masters Announced
Hasselblad honours ten of today's best contemporary photographers by naming them the 2008 Hasselblad Masters.
Hasselblad picks its ten Masters for 2008. After the lengthy process of sifting through 17,000 stunning photographs from the 1,700 professional medium and large format photographers who entered, the judges chose the ten winners from 100 finalists. They based their decisions on photographic ability, which they divided into the following categories: creativity, composition, conceptual strength and technical skill. The winners will receive a framed diploma and the use of a Hasselblad H3DII DSLR for four months. They will be asked to use this camera to take stunning images to be included in a high quality book, which will be launched at Photokina in September. The ten Hasselblad masters for 2008 include Julia Fullerton-Batten, the only English winner. For a full list of prizes, the winners and links to their websites, please visit the Hasselblad website. Details of how to enter the Hasselblad Masters 2009 competition are also available on the site. Photo: copyright Raya, Hasselblad Master 2007
