Digital SLR Photography shortlisted for PPA Awards 2010
Digital SLR Photography has been shortlisted for the PPA Awards Specialist Consumer Magazine 2010 category. The shortlist recognises magazines demonstrating audience retention or growth, robust market share and competitive positioning, as well as sound commercial results. The PPA Awards are the UK publishing industry’s most prestigious awards and making the shortlist is a major achievement in itself.
Since Dennis Publishing acquired Digital SLR Photography in 2008 the magazine has gone from strength to strength. Significant investment, expertise and resources have enabled us to deliver a product that stands out from other photography magazines and the nomination is testimony to this.
Commercially and beyond the magazine, we have enjoyed success with numerous books, a new website and license deals. Magazine highlights for the brand over the past year include:
• Achieving a 27% growth in circulation*
• Winner of the Pixel Trade Award for the Consumer Magazine of the Year 2009
• And now making the shortlist for the prestigious PPA Awards – Specialist Consumer Magazine
“We are delighted to be shortlisted for the PPA Awards this year,” says John Garewal, Publisher of Digital SLR Photography. “This nomination recognises the superb editorial product, coupled with Dennis Publishing expertise, delivering a fantastic magazine to a growing audience.”
Digital SLR Photography is the UK’s biggest photography magazine, with more pages and more content than any of its competitors. However, the real success is based on publishing a superior product, inspiring photographers and making the title essential to every reader.
*ABC Audit 2009. Average Net Circulation per issue 29,208 – up 27% year on year
