September 29-30 2010, Studley Castle, Warwickshire

A unique workshop aimed at helping you improve your photography and earn money from your camera.

How to break into weddings, social portraiture, commercial work, editorial and video – revealed!

If you've recently turned pro or are considering it, perhaps would like to earn a little cash from your camera or just want to take your image-making onto a higher level, then this unique course is ideal for you.
Presented by three successful professional photographers, you'll learn not only some innovative commercial and editorial photography techniques but also some real-world advice on making money from your photography in the UK right now.
From how to take not only saleable but dramatic photos, to how and where to promote yourself in several different markets, this two-day workshop is geared to helping you make the next step in your photography.

DAY ONE
Held at the stunning Studley Castle hotel and conference centre in Warwickshire, the two-day event starts off with a look at the wedding photography business where you’ll learn about what brides want nowadays and how best to deliver it for maximum profit.
Everything from developing your own style to carrying the right kit, marketing, contracts, workflow, advertising and lighting will be explained in this seminar. And we’ll even touch on the basics of social portraiture and how it can dovetail nicely with a wedding business.

Then there will be a demonstration of shooting a bride around the stunning Studley grounds – how best to use the location and master the light for beautiful results every time, rain or shine. And you’ll have the chance to take some of your own photos. Just bring your camera and lenses, we’ll provide all the lighting kit you need. This seminar is led by Adam Duckworth who owns the successful AbFab Photography wedding business.
After lunch, two of the UK’s top commercial photographers will be leading workshops on location lighting and how to make commercial work pay.
The first will be by celebrity portrait photographer Jim Marks who will reveal his amazing location lighting techniques that he’s used to photograph such major international stars as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Pamela Anderson, Daniel Craig, Pixie Lott and Rowan Atkinson.
He’ll be photographing models on location and you’ll be able to not only learn but take some of your own amazing images.
Then it’ll be the turn of commercial and editorial photographer Adrian Weinbrecht, an Australian photographer who has shot many of the UK’s top sporting and TV stars like Graham Norton, Denise Van Outen, John Barrowman and the whole cast of Holby City! Adrian will also be shooting on location and reveal some of his cutting-edge lighting techniques.
Then after dinner for delegates staying both days, special bonus sessions will be run on workflow using Capture One software. And we’ll be showing how easy it is to use small flashguns off-camera to get some brilliant results.

DAY TWO
Specialist and niche magazines can be a lucrative market for photographers, and the second day starts with a seminar and shoot led by editorial photographer Adam Duckworth.
Adam not only shoots for many of the UK’s car and motorcycle magazines but also is Editorial Director at action sports media group Factory Media and is a former Publishing Director of FHM and ZOO magazines. So he can offer a truly unique insight into how the business of magazine photography works, and how you can break into it.
Adam will then lead a workshop on how to shoot a motorcycle and rider that a magazine editor will find irresistible to buy! And you’ll get the opportunity to take lots of your own shots to add to your portfolio.
The star of the show will be a shoot led by Adrian Weinbrecht of a professional dancer captured in full flow. Adrian is one of the country’s foremost dance photographers and his techniques are guaranteed to inspire you!
The latest crop of high-end DSLRs now feature HD movies, and Jim Marks will explain how stills photographers can use cameras like the Canon 5d Mk II to make video work for them and unlock new and lucrative revenue from clients.
The day ends with a recap of the two days plus a question-and-answer forum.
It’s an unmissable two days for anyone serious about their photography who wants to make a real difference to their image making.
