Studley Castle success

Nearly 20 photography enthusiasts attended a two-day ‘Turning Pro’ workshop, held at Studley Castle near Stratford-upon-Avon. Organised by The Flash Centre and supported by Digital SLR Photography, the event saw a host of pro photographers, including Adam Duckworth and Jim Marks, host practical tutorials and representatives from Canon, Colour Confidence and Lastolite were also on hand to offer professional advice.
Darren Edmunds, 36, won our competition for a free place on the two-day workshop and commented: “The workshop has given me a lot more confidence. A lot of techniques that I was already using were demonstrated by the experts, so it reaffirms that the way I was working was right. It sounds simple, but just watching the way a professional photographer sets up their lights can teach you so much.
The mix of classroom talks and practical tutorials is a great way of education someone about photography and I’ve found the whole experience to be fantastic.”
The Flash Centre’s Dave Beck said: “We’ve enjoyed a successful event with attendees not only coming away with increased photographic knowledge, but also having had a fun and enjoyable two days.”
