Marumi MADRF14 ring flash

Kenro has announced that the Marumi MADRF14 ring flash is now available to fit Sony DSLRs. Priced at £187 and previously only available for Canon and Nikon users, the ring flash package consists of a main flashgun unit and a separate ring unit, which connect to the lens filter thread. The standard mount is 52mm and step-up rings to 55mm, 58mm, 62mm and 67mm are included. The MADRF14 has a guide number of 14 (100 ISO), a recycle time of 4-6 seconds and Kenro claim it can deliver between 150-300 from a fresh set of AA batteries.
Kenro managing director Paul Kench comments: “Ring flash is usually an expensive luxury, but now it is within reach of every serious photographer, courtesy of Marumi. I’m delighted this option is now open to Sony users. It’s easy to use and very effective.”
