Photography enthusiasts have the chance to work with a critically acclaimed landscape photographer at the Bluestone National Park Resort in West Wales in May as part of a weekend retreat.

The five-star short-break destination set in the Pembrokeshire National Park is hosting a photography retreat between Friday, 20th to Monday 23rd May led by Peter Watson who will share his passion and experience of landscape photography over the three-night break.

The weekend will include trips into the spectacular Pembrokeshire countryside for location photography, including tips and advice from Peter, along with workshops and analysis of the participants work.

Participants will stay in the luxury accommodation provided at Bluestone, enjoy the culinary delights of its Carreg Las restaurant, as well as having the opportunity to enjoy some of the facilities at the resort, including The Well holistic spa.

Peter has been photographing landscapes throughout the UK since the 1970s and is the author of a number of books, as well as being critically acclaimed for his work that has been published and displayed in galleries and publications throughout the world. Another accomplished photographer, Drew Buckley, who lives and works in Pembrokeshire, will join him to work with participants.

“This is an opportunity for photography enthusiasts to learn new tips and gain an insight into the techniques for the perfect landscape photo from a professional. Peter will take participants into the stunning surrounding countryside that Pembrokeshire is famous for the world over before hosting workshops where the group can discuss techniques and learn from Peter on how to adapt and improve their photography,” said Yvonne Buckingham, Head of Marketing of Bluestone.

The weekend break will cost from £200 per person based on the type of accommodation selected at Bluestone, with other non-photography guests able to stay for a special price of £90, including dinner and breakfast, and enjoy activities such as the Well spa, the Steep Ravine, Adventure Centre or Blue Lagoon.

“Pembrokeshire has some of the most stunning scenery in the UK and the world,” said Peter Watson. “It’s an ideal location for landscape photography, whether within the countryside or along the coastal areas. It provides some spectacular opportunities for photographers and through the weekend I’ll be helping participants to get the most out of their passion.”
